I would like to see chassis damage and body damage repair seperated.
Who cares if your fender is a bit out of shape just as long as your suspension is good.

Quote from dekojester :"special option" to the RB4,

Nah. Using the RB4 would be kind of stupid. I've not seen that many races but in the ones I've seen the recovery wehicle is usually something with a bit more...leverage.

If the dev's would make a tow truck for LFS I would spend all my LFS time on recovery missions

Quote from ColeusRattus :Quite far off.
Allthough since my GF went to tampere for a semester abroad, my righ arm has become considerably stronger...

Try the left one for a change. Feels totally different. If I want a quickie I go for the right one. It's stronger and faster. If I want it gentle I'll go with the left.

I'd call this:YACUT

Quote from squidhead :I haven't been driving XRT for some time... a lot of time actually, and switched to FZR with slicks... now everytime I drive XRT - it's simply like driving on ice for me... so, yes, you're not the only one with grip problems

I feel your pain.
After a few laps with the FZR the XRT doesn't turn, stop or accelerate.

Is the optimal line for a slick tyred GTR different compared to a TBO?

BTW my sets for the XRT simply aren't working after patch Z. The rear is somehow very loose compared to before. Though, everyone else says it's much more stable

I'd like to join very much but I can't.
I'm leaving for a holiday on the 16th.

Well what a season.

Start was a total washout. DC in quali and race. And I liked the combo. Then it was an OK first time racing the LX6. Blowing up my HD ruined the 3rd race. On the oval I did quite good as I actually wasn't even last. Work schedule ruined the RX race. Stupid pit people (butter fingers on the arrow keys) ruined the 6th race. Races 7, 8 and 9 were good. Got meself some points. The last race was on the slow side. But I'll put that on not practising enought.

Thanks for my first ever league. Hopefully I can take part in the second season too.

Quote from Gener_AL (UK) :So i take offense to that comment. (and no doubt many hotlappers also)

Didn't mean to offend, but how did you take offence from that?
I'd say the "hotlappers" you are talking about belong to the other fast drivers category I mentioned. They know how to race. The ones I was referring to by "used to hotlapping" do not.

I do apologise.

Easiest way is to copy the whole LFS-folder. It's not that big.

You'll need to unlock it after the move.

What I love about LfS
  • online racing
  • close racing
  • close online racing
  • the good racers who are willing to help you with your set or line
  • the XRT
  • the LX4
  • the LX6 (I would have never quessed that I'd fall for this beast)
There is so much to love about LfS.

The only thing I hate about LfS is that I can't get paid for driving around in it. If I did I wouldn't need to work so I could be LfSing 24/7.

The only thing a person REALLY NEEDS to do is die. And even that is more like a "must" than a "need". So give the big letters a rest.

It is really nice watching a replay of a close race. See how you defended your position or how the other guy defended against your attacks and how you could have done something better.

Nowadays it doesn't really matter what license you have. With the S1 license you can join any server that is running an S1 track with S1 cars. You'll just be kicked if it changes to S2 content.

Quote from JohnnyFX :The brake pedal is your friend.

Forgot that one. Especially when starting form the back and coming to T1.
I used to deliberately have a slow start so the hasty ones could break their suspensions in the hassle.

Quote from JohnnyFX :Like March Hare I'm not especially fast.

Thanks a bunch. But so true. I lose about 3 seconds every minute to the WRs. But look at me! I have Platinum.

Quote from JohnnyFX :I've also noticed that it's often (though by no means always) the fastest drivers who have the hardest time avoiding accidents.

I know the type. They are so used to hotlapping that they are not able to adapt to other drivers on the server being slower than they are. In other words: Those who can't race.

But then there is the other type of fast drivers who can truly race. First they are a dot in the rearview mirror. Then suddenly they are driving a few pixels from your rear bumper. And even if you try to hold 'em off with slightly dirty, or more severe, tricks they just take it in stride and pass you all the same.

Report is your friend.

Start at the back to avoid the T1 mayhem. Then slalom through the wreckage.

Works best on SO tracks.

Well atleast I didn't keep you behind me for a long time. Was on the throttle just a tad too early in the last turn and slipped the rear.

Lococost, are you as pissed as I was at the AS6 race? When I crashed at the last chicane and went to the pits and accidentally changed the "repair damage" to "yes" TWICE.

Took the XRT for a spin on Race 2 yesterday. Literally.

20+ cars on the grid is just awesome! I really need to learn how to drive close to other people again. I give way too much space for those trying to pass me. Or in some cases too little.

I wouldn't say the standard of driving is so bad. Propably more due to the fact that people are learning how to drive with so many other cars around them.

The down side is that I get no more points. But that doesn't matter 'cause I got my Platinum while you guys were mucking about on Race 1 and such. Njah! Njah! Njah!
Now I only have to learn to drive like one.

Quote from yeager :LOOONG braking zones in the TBO's and the boat like handling.

The worst combination is driving a few races with the GT2 XRR and then jumping into the XRT. Everything looks the same except for some rollcage that is missing (Pre Z). Sound is a bit meh. Acceleration is sluggish and it is so slow. Then comes the first turn and the damn thing wont slow down or turn.
